Our Bay City Patient of the Month is Ethan Bursick!
Ethan was nominated by his OT, Lauren Matherne and SLP, Darlene Matlock.
Ethan attended occupational therapy to work on fine motor, visual motor, self-care skills and transitioning between preferred and non-preferred play activities without having a meltdown. Ethan attended speech therapy to improve overall communication skills.
Ethan is now able to engage in therapist led activities for longer periods of time without having a meltdown and he improved his scissor skills because of occupational therapy. Since attending speech therapy, Ethan is now able to point to pictured objects, communicate needs by using pictures and engage in therapy activities with better eye contact.
Ethan was nominated because he always works so hard in therapy sessions and his family is constantly taking the education from his therapists and applying it to their everyday lives and activities.
Congratulations Ethan! Keep up the good work.
